I work in a hosp where every surg service has a gen med advanced trainee on periop. Daily periop med input on anyone the surg teams want. So generally surg pathology goes to surgeons for expertise, prognosis communication, nursing and mdt with daily med review & support as req

My purpose is not to change the way you practice, just to relate how I practice, which is without Ki67
Why is this? Because the way the test is conducted uses biotin as a co-factor, and the high levels from the mega-doses that patients take interferes with this. Depending on the chemistry, it can be falsely high OR falsely low.
