I often come across cyclin D1 (bcl-1) being mis-described in pathology reports as "positive" or "negative". I only specify whether or not bcl-1 is being over-expressed (e.g., mantle cell lymphoma). Important to remember that bcl-1 is normally expressed in G1 of active cell cycle.
