Yes, although 63000 in high sensitivity (ng/L) is roughly the equivalent of 63 in "conventional" troponin, so still quite high. Not an exact 1:1000 comparison, and less of an accurate comparison at lower range. But roughly so.

What do you tell the surgeon when the sample doesn't appear to have synovial surface/granulation tissue? We occasionally get samples of just dense fibrous tissue. I tell them this but they usually don't seem to care.

- Metastatic sarcoma

I would work this up for all small blue round cell tumors. including DSBRT, rhabdo, neuroblastoma, Wilms, and Burkitt. When you said flank, I included deep abdominal/retroperitoneal which is okay for Burkitt.
— Bin Xu (@BinXu16) May 23, 2020
+1, small round cell tumor, but cytologic features are more in keeping within Burkitt.
— Bin Xu (@BinXu16) May 22, 2020
I get the resection. The prior bx was workup in full (IHC, EBER, Fusion) to give a definitely diagnosis, including markers for KS, EBV-SMN, ECMT, cellular spindle cell tumors (monophasic synovial, SFT, infantile fibrosarcoma, MPNST) and small round cell sarcoma (CD99 etc).
